Swedish American Museum recommends donations at the following levels for our visitors:
Visitors may explore the Brunk Children’s Museum of Immigration as well as the Swedish American Museum, so long as the Children’s Museum is open to the public. Please note that at times programs may be held in the first-floor gallery that limit access to our temporary exhibit. Feel free to call ahead of your visit to confirm that the gallery will be open to the public at the time of your visit.

Special guided group tours are available. Contact the Museum at 773.728.8111 to reserve a time for your group.
The Museum is located at 5211 N. Clark St. in Andersonville, a traditionally Swedish area of Chicago’s north side. The entire community welcomes Swedish Americans and celebrates the Swedish holidays. Merchants and residents turn out for the very traditional Midsummer, Lucia and Christmas celebrations. Tourists visit the area continually to sample Swedish food, buy gifts, and visit the Museum.
Public Transportation: Clark Street CTA bus No. 22 and Foster Avenue bus No. 92 stop within 150 feet of the Museum Center. The CTA Red Line EL train stops at Berwyn. The nearest Divvy bike station is three blocks south of the Museum at Winnemac and Clark. Click here for more information about Divvy, Chicago’s bike sharing system.
Parking: The Museum has limited complimentary off-street parking in our lot a half block from the Museum at the corner of Ashland and Foster. Street parking is also available on Clark Street using City Pay Boxes at $2.00/hour and free parking can often be found on neighboring streets, including Foster and Ashland. Note that parking is free on Sundays in Andersonville.
School Tours can be scheduled with the Education Manager for Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.
