Go Swedish! Exhibit and Recipe Book

The exhibit Go Swedish! Smörgåsbord and Beyond is now open at the Swedish American Museum.    Items from the Museum’s permanent collection are on display to illustrate the traditional foods in this buffet, how different regions in Sweden focus on different types of food and how some things have changed as well as the importance of the table setting and cookware.

In honor of Go Swedish! Smörgåsbord and Beyond, the Swedish American Museum invites others to share in this experience with our recipe exchange.  Each week a new recipe will be featured at the Museum, and all recipes submitted to the Museum that are from Swedish culture or use Swedish ingredients will be featured in a recipe book.  To view our first submitted recipe–a recipe for Swedish Meatballs–click here.

To submit a recipe, download the form, fill out the required information, and return it to the Museum in our Recipe Box or via e-mail.  To download a recipe form, click here.  If you have any questions, please contact the Museum at museum@samac.org or 773.728.8111.
