Sidewalk Sale

The Kerstin Andersson Museum Store is part of Andersonville’s Sidewalk Sale during the weekend of Friday, July 30 through Sunday, Aug. 1.  The Museum Store will sell store items outside the Museum sidewalk on Clark Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.  For more information on the Sidewalk Sale, please click here to visit the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce Web site.

Andersonville Farmer’s Market

The Kerstin Andersoon Museum Store will be at the Andersonville Farmer’s Market on Wednesday, Aug. 11 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. selling imported Swedish foods and gifts.  The Andersonville Farmer’s Market, located on Berwyn Avenue between Clark Street and Ashland Avenue, is open every Wednesday in the summer from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and features an array of local and visiting businesses selling produce, baked goods, and other fresh items.  For more information on the Andersonville Farmer’s Market, please click here.

Chicago Swedes: They Spoke From the Heart by Lilly Setterdahl

lilly_setterdahl_bookSwedish-American author Lilly Setterdahl presents her newest non-fiction book, Chicago Swedes: They Spoke from the Heart, which includes 340 oral histories and 300 photos produced by her late husband, Lennart Setterdahl.  In it, she discusses the many accomplishments of Swedes in the area, personal stories and pictures of growing up Swedish in the city, the struggles many Swedish immigrants and relatives of immigrants faced in their new lives in the United States and Chicago, and more.

The Kerstin Andersson Museum Store now carries special items inspired by the Royal Wedding in Sweden between Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling on Saturday, June 19, 2010.    These items are designed by Ekelund and Opto Design, one of only several companies designing for the Official Wedding Series, Den Officiella Bröllopsserien!

Portions of revenue from the Official Wedding Series is donated to the Crown Princess Couple’s Wedding Foundation.  For questions or to make purchases please contact the Store Manager Ann Cutler at 773.728.8111 or e-mail her at ACutler@samac.org.
